After yesterday's stunning failure to locate the Hoopoe, the opportunity for an attempt without Adam Whitehouse seemed too good to pass up. Sure enough, without Adam at my side, I was able to see the wee thing in all its glory. Fantastic. Very grey/brown on the mantle/scapulars - not as black and white as on some.
